About Crosswinds

Crosswinds Church is a Christ-Centered community in Plainfield Illinois, located at the corner of Route 59 & 143rd Street. It is a place where you can discover who God is and live out your faith in uplifting and practical ways. We believe the Bible teaches that we don’t come to church but that we are the church, so we teach our members to have an impact on their families, workplaces, schools, community, and beyond. The church was started by ordinary people who God has used to do great things to show love and kindness in Plainfield, our county, our region, our state, and other countries..

Our goal is not just for you to come and visit us but for you to take what you learn about God at Crosswinds and share that with someone else to encourage them on their journey. God has a wonderful design for our lives, but life can be hard and we live in a broken world. We all need help and encouragement on our journey, so we seek to give people practical tools. These tools not only help them find peace and joy in their everyday lives, but help others to do the same. We are not perfect. The Bible says no one but Jesus is perfect, but we hope you will come and grow with us. We hope you will help us to make our lives and the lives of others better by discovering the hope that is found in Jesus Christ!

With Him?
Luke 22:54-62 | Sun, Mar 30, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

Betray
Luke 22:47-53 | Sun, Mar 23, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This message explores the theme of betrayal, both in the life of Jesus and in our own lives.

Pray
Luke 22:39-46 | Sun, Mar 16, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

Jesus commands his disciples to pray so they do not fall into temptation and sets the example by praying in deep agony before his crucifixion. He teaches that prayer is not about changing God's will, but aligning ourselves with it. Prayer strengthens us in trials, keeps us from distraction, and leads us to surrender to God’s perfect plan.

Triumph through Trials
Luke 22:31-38 | Sun, Mar 09, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This message emphasizes that trials are an inevitable part of the Christian life, but through Christ, we can triumph over them. By placing our confidence in Christ rather than ourselves, we find peace, endurance, and purpose in our suffering.

Disciple Making - The pathway to Greatness
2 Timothy 2:1-10 | Sun, Mar 02, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This message emphasizes that true greatness in God's kingdom is achieved through disciple-making. Using 2 Timothy 2:1-10, the message highlights Paul's mentorship of Timothy as an example of how believers should invest in others to multiply disciples. The pathway to greatness is not about personal achievement but about surrendering to Christ, enduring hardships, and faithfully passing on the Gospel to future generations.

Rethinking Greatness
Luke 22:24-30 | Sun, Feb 23, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

The world defines greatness through power, status, and personal achievement, but Jesus flips this concept by demonstrating that true greatness is found in servanthood and humility.

For You
Luke 22:16-23 | Sun, Feb 16, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

Through the Last Supper, Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper as a reminder of His sacrifice, reinforcing that God’s love and salvation are available to all.

Passing over betrayal
Luke 22:1-6 | Sun, Feb 09, 2025 | Pastor Ken Schultz

This study explores the theme of betrayal. Betrayal is inevitable in life, often coming from those closest to us, but how we respond to it determines our spiritual well-being. Jesus exemplifies that forgiveness, rather than bitterness, leads to freedom, allowing us to trust in God rather than be enslaved by the fear of man.

Ambassadors
Ephesians 6:18-24 | Sun, Feb 02, 2025 | Jason Magafas

This message concludes the series "Who God Says You Are" by emphasizing that everything God calls us to be builds up to our role as ambassadors for Christ. We are not defined by our own perception or the opinions of others but by God’s truth. As ambassadors, we are called to represent Him, equipped by God, and strengthened through prayer and community.
