Our mission team housing is an ideal place for a short-term mission team working in the Chicago area to come and stay. We are located about 45
minutes from Downtown Chicago in a quiet, safe south suburban community called Plainfield Illinois in the basement of Crosswinds Church. For shopping for supplies three large grocery stores and a Cosco are within 3 to 5 miles and two international airports are within a 35-45 drive. Local highways give easy access to Chicago and its many suburbs. About 100,000 people live within about 5 miles of the Church and we estimate 96% are without a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. So there are projects that can be done in our community in partnership with Crosswinds. If you would like to partner with local churches in our community. We are part of the Three Rivers Baptist Association which represents 35 churches located in the Southwest suburbs and rural communities.
We ha
ve 5 meeting spaces equipped with multimedia equipment for meetings and team recreation. We also have a multimedia-equipped Worship Center that you can arrange to use with your team for worship. The max capacity for our worship space is 100. These rooms can also be used for additional sleeping and dining areas for larger teams. The largest team we have accommodated so far in our building is 60. Our regular downstairs sleeping capacity is 24 team members. Larger teams will need to bring air mattresses for their team if they want to use our additional spaces. All team members must bring their own bedding, sleeping bag, and pillows. Crosswinds at this time do not have any Laundry Facilities on-premises. There is a coin-operated laundry mat within about a mile of the church.
We have a commercial kitchen available for our teams. It is equipped with a Commercial Stove with 6 burners, a griddle, and 2 ovens. We also have a prep table, larger refrigerator, and freezer for team use. There are some eating spaces for meals in our
hospitality area and downstairs near our kitchen. For sleeping, there are two large rooms with 8 beds each, a leader room with 2 beds, and another room with 4 beds. We have 3 showers in our men's and women's locker room and plenty of bathroom facilities in the mission team housing space and throughout the church. There is fast wifi throughout the church and PC and printers are available if needed with the staff's permission. We have plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate your needs and if worked out with your staff we have equipment like tables, chairs, tents, portable sound, etc that can be used for your events.
