This Memorial Day we remember those who died to give us liberty. They honor Jesus, who died to give us liberty from the law, sin, and death. Liberty is not freedom to do what you want, but freedom to live as God intends us. We can’t do that through the law, only through the liberty He gave us in Christ Jesus.

How do we walk in the liberty Christ has won for us? It is by the spirit that we walk and leave sin behind nailed to the Cross by the power of His love! Because He first loved us, he plants the fruit of love in our hearts. This changes us and our external behavior in a way that the external law never could.

This is part 6 of our series Forward in Faith and Faithfulness. The mission of Crosswinds Church is : Helping every Family, discover God, His love and His ways. Our mission is based on two statements by Jesus. One what Jesus said was the great commandment of God (Mark 12:29-31) and Jesus great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) which gives the church its purpose in every generation . In this part of the series we look at the word "Love" in our mission statement.

The reason some cannot be a disciple is not because they are unworthy, it is because they are unwilling to pay the cost of Love. Jesus offers us free the gift of forgiveness but in our text in this message in Luke 14 Jesus makes it very clear that there is a cost to being his disciple. Jesus grace is free but it is not cheap.

God is Love but often in our culture we worship Love as God. The feeling of love can be a powerful idol that will lead us in sin. God loves you because He loves you understanding that truth can free you from the power of sin by the love he expressed in Jesus's sacrifice.

As we face a new year what is going to make this year extraordinary? Is it losing weight? Making more money? Having more friends? Jesus has a new command that if obeyed could make this and extraordinary year. It is to "Love one another." Obeying with command will revive our church, your relationship with God, bring rival to others in our community. While breathing makes one physically alive. Loving makes one spiritually alive.

In The Epistle of James 2:1–7, James teaches that authentic faith is revealed through authentic love — a love that refuses to show partiality or rank people based on wealth, appearance, status, or influence. The message warns believers against favoritism and reminds the church that every person is made in the image of God and equally valuable because of Christ’s sacrifice.

We do not need to look for signs to prove God is here for us or His love for us. God gives us miracles daily and it is up to us to have faith and see these gifts from Him.

This Valentine's Day message focuses on turning to Jesus and surrendering for His love for you. And believe that His love actually held him on a cross to die for you. He chose to forgive all of our sins. Put your hope in a love that does not fail with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jesus has set us free to love. God first loved us before the foundations of the world. Let God's grace flow in each of us and flow out to a thirsty world that needs more love.
