About Crosswinds

Crosswinds Church is a Christ-Centered community in Plainfield Illinois, located at the corner of Route 59 & 143rd Street. It is a place where you can discover who God is and live out your faith in uplifting and practical ways. We believe the Bible teaches that we don’t come to church but that we are the church, so we teach our members to have an impact on their families, workplaces, schools, community, and beyond. The church was started by ordinary people who God has used to do great things to show love and kindness in Plainfield, our county, our region, our state, and other countries..

Our goal is not just for you to come and visit us but for you to take what you learn about God at Crosswinds and share that with someone else to encourage them on their journey. God has a wonderful design for our lives, but life can be hard and we live in a broken world. We all need help and encouragement on our journey, so we seek to give people practical tools. These tools not only help them find peace and joy in their everyday lives, but help others to do the same. We are not perfect. The Bible says no one but Jesus is perfect, but we hope you will come and grow with us. We hope you will help us to make our lives and the lives of others better by discovering the hope that is found in Jesus Christ!

Do You Want to be Healed?
John 5:1-16 | Sun, Aug 17, 2014 | Pastor Ken Schultz

Jesus heals a man at the pool of Bethesda but before He does he asks a very important question, “Do you want to be healed?” The answer seems obvious but is it? Being well means change in all areas of our lives. We must become physically well, psychologically well, spiritually well, and relationally well to be healed because they are all interconnected. We look for quick fixes but God is looking a complete fix because He recreates all of us and makes us new so we can walk with him.

Buried with Him in Baptism & Raised to New Life
Luke 3:1-21 | Sun, Aug 10, 2014 | Pastor John Stillman

The Bible tells us that at His baptism and at the cross, Jesus identified with all the sins of humanity (2 Co 5:21) to show that God knows the needs of sinners and has a plan for our forgiveness. The Bible also says that we are to identify with Him through faith – which is an unseen reality - and connect ourselves to Him through baptism and obedience as a seen reality. In this message, Pastor John describes what it means for us to be baptized "in Christ."

1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 | Sun, Aug 03, 2014 | Pastor John Stillman

It is very easy when we hear the commands of God to think of them as duty rather than something to delight in. But the psalmist says there is a blessedness that comes from meditating on and obeying and delighting in the commands of God day and night. In this final message from 1 Thessalonians, Pastor John looks at how delighting in the commands of God gives us great reason to worship.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 | Sun, Jul 13, 2014 | Pastor John Stillman
