About Crosswinds

Crosswinds Church is a Christ-Centered community in Plainfield Illinois, located at the corner of Route 59 & 143rd Street. It is a place where you can discover who God is and live out your faith in uplifting and practical ways. We believe the Bible teaches that we don’t come to church but that we are the church, so we teach our members to have an impact on their families, workplaces, schools, community, and beyond. The church was started by ordinary people who God has used to do great things to show love and kindness in Plainfield, our county, our region, our state, and other countries..

Our goal is not just for you to come and visit us but for you to take what you learn about God at Crosswinds and share that with someone else to encourage them on their journey. God has a wonderful design for our lives, but life can be hard and we live in a broken world. We all need help and encouragement on our journey, so we seek to give people practical tools. These tools not only help them find peace and joy in their everyday lives, but help others to do the same. We are not perfect. The Bible says no one but Jesus is perfect, but we hope you will come and grow with us. We hope you will help us to make our lives and the lives of others better by discovering the hope that is found in Jesus Christ!

The Gift of Forgiveness
Micah 7 | Tue, Dec 24, 2013 | Pastor John Stillman

In our very pluralistic society, we could have conversations with people and ask, "What's your God like?" There are many ways we could describe our God, but one of the central features of God's nature and identity is to forgive sin. In this message, Pastor John looks at how each and every one of us can know the freedom of forgiveness.

A Family Gathering
Micah 4 | Sun, Dec 08, 2013 | Pastor John Stillman

As Micah foresees the future, he envisions a gathering of people from every nation, tribe, and language. Those that come invite and encourage others to come with them, joining in the mission of Jesus to draw all people to Himself. Today it is our day to join the mission and get on with evangelizing our neighbors.

The Spirit of Christmas
Micah 3 | Sun, Dec 01, 2013 | Pastor John Stillman

Confident and humble leadership is important. 700 years before the birth of Jesus, the leaders were known for injustice, bribery, and weakness. God filled a prophet named Micah with the Holy Spirit to declare His message that we can be led a different way. A way that removes our fears, clears up our confusion, and forgives our failures.

It is by Giving that we Receive
Micah 2 | Sun, Nov 24, 2013 | Pastor John Stillman

Many people have been hurt by disability, disaster, or the decisions of those around them. God's plan is that His concern for them would be administered through us - but often we are too preoccupied with our own wants. In this message, Pastor John looks at how the actions of our hands reveals the condition of our hearts.

Follow Jesus By Giving

We believe that the bible teaches us that giving should be regular, proportional, and sacrificial! Help us to help others by giving to the work of the gospel.
