got thirst?
John 4:3-39 | Sun, May 20, 2007 | Pastor John Stillman

On a hot day at noon, Jesus met a woman who deep inside had hidden hurts – things that were said to her in private that she would never say in public; secret sins – embarrassing things she had done and regretted; deep-down dreams that appeared only in her mind and heart and with each passing year seemed like they would never turn into reality. She was a dry, thirsty person inside – but on the outside she wore it fairly well. In this passage, we learn that Jesus wants to put us in touch with our thirst.

"when i grow up…"
Ecclesiastes | Sun, Apr 29, 2007 | Pastor John Stillman

As children, we all have positive dreams for our future. We say, “When I grow up… fill in the blank.” We dream about careers – what kind of job we will have. We dream about what our family will be like – marriage, kids of our own. We dream about how we will make a living and how we will live. In this message, we’ll see that without the proper dreams and purpose, life will seem tiresome, unfulfilling, and uncontrollable.

Developing a Brave Heart
| Sun, Jun 24, 2007 | Pastor John Stillman

There’s something that stirs in a man when he watches William Wallace, Aragorn, Maximus, “Dirty Harry” Callahan, Luke Skywalker, or Rocky Balboa do their stuff. It’s what John Eldredge describes as a man’s deep-down desire for “a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue.” What stirs within us is the memory of battles and adventures and rescues that we have lived out. Or what stirs within us is a thirst for what we wish we were like.

Made for More
Psalm 122:1-9 | Sun, Dec 04, 2022 | Pastor John Stillman

What does it mean to be made for more? It does not mean you were made for more stuff, not more power, not more money not more possessions. You were not born primarily for these things. Pastor John Stillman takes a deeper look into Psalm 122 to answer the question what were we made for.
