What's holding you back from following Jesus? In this message, Pastor John looks at the story of a man who had been told lots of things that, before that moment, at least in his mind, kept him from making that kind of commitment. But then he hears of how Jesus came to remove the barriers that had kept him from a relationship with God.

Part of Luke’s purpose in writing Acts was to record the growth of the church as, through the Holy Spirit, Jesus continued the ministry He began. The growth of the church - any church - is for the glory of God. It isn’t pastors, programs, or practices that cause a church to grow – it is the Holy Spirit that causes growth as He draws people to Jesus. But, we must cooperate with the Holy Spirit for growth to happen. With that in mind, this passage provides us with three observations about the building of the church.

In the perfect world of Eden, God made and wired men to be protectors, providers, and cultivators. Sometimes that wiring gets messed up. It may be a short-circuit brought on by bad nurturing or by circumstances, but ultimately it comes from a man’s decision to live his life differently than how God made him. Today, we’re going to look at the sad situation of “men gone wild.” We’ll look at how men usually deface the image of God in them, the consequences of this defacement, and how we can restore the image.

Shine your light onto others. When you believe in Christ and you follow His ways you have a strong inner light that radiates to the outside.

Jesus was a man! No big revelation huh! Or is it? In today’s message we will be talking about what we can learn about manhood from Jesus. He had fierce love for His father and for all of us, and was willing to battle sin and death for us! Men, let’s follow Him into glory!
