The Bible is about Jesus – The Hope That Changed the World. Because He rose from death, Jesus changed everything, and is now worshiped by nearly 2 billion people all over the world as Lord, Christ, Savior, and God. In His name, the nations will put their hope.

Only two gospels record the details of Jesus’ birth, but all four record his death, and give quite a bit of attention as to how Jesus died. As Jesus first revealed His coming death, burial, and resurrection to His disciples, He reveals another truth to them: the way to real life is to die to self and live for Jesus.

What do you do with your faith when you face challenges and setbacks? What do you do when your faith is tested to the limit? In this sermon, we’ll learn about a woman who had great hope in small things and was rewarded greatly.

In this passage, Jesus gets to the root cause of sin and separation from God and our failure to worship. Our external actions and the words we say and the way we feel are ultimately rooted in the human heart. And when the heart is corrupted, it is far from the heart’s Creator. To worship properly what we need is a heart transformed by hope – by King Jesus.

Jesus is the King of the Nations. Yet, unlike the dictators and despots of the world, Jesus is a different kind of king. He has all authority, but He is completely humble. He is forceful and challenging, but He is gentle. He is the rightful King, but He is rejected. In today’s message, we’ll see why people reject King Jesus, and how do we respond when that rejection falls on us.

Having people know your identity - your name, your occupation, what you see as your life’s purpose – is important. Jesus wants you to know His identity, too, because eternal life is knowing Jesus Christ who was sent by the heavenly Father (John 17:3). Do you know Him?

As we finish up our time in our current building and prepare to begin a new phase in our history as Crosswinds, Pastor John focuses today’s message on reasons to be hopeful no matter where we are located as a congregation.

At Christmas, we sometimes become aware of how small and broken down things are in our lives. Financial resources may seem small. Our decorations may look small compared to the neighbors. Our heart might feel small when we don’t have the feelings of good-will or generosity towards others, or a closeness to God that we know we ought to have. Paul’s letter to the new church in the small town of Colossae reminds us that God’s good news of the gospel comes to small places and fills them with joy!

According to U. S. census data, more Americans are living in “step-family” arrangements than in the “traditional nuclear” family. Blended families can have unique difficulties, but they are not beyond hope - particularly when God becomes involved.

“Hope” occurs 173 times in the Bible. “Hopeless” occurs only once. “Hopeless” is not a word in God’s vocabulary. His intention is to provide hope. In this message, Pastor John shares how the Holy Spirit – the Holy “Breathe” - helps believers when life stinks.
