The Hope that Changed the World
Matthew 17:1-8 | Mon, Apr 25, 2011 | Pastor John Stillman

The Bible is about Jesus – The Hope That Changed the World. Because He rose from death, Jesus changed everything, and is now worshiped by nearly 2 billion people all over the world as Lord, Christ, Savior, and God. In His name, the nations will put their hope.

The Undying Hope of the Cross
Matthew 16:21-27 | Mon, Apr 18, 2011 | Pastor John Stillman

Only two gospels record the details of Jesus’ birth, but all four record his death, and give quite a bit of attention as to how Jesus died. As Jesus first revealed His coming death, burial, and resurrection to His disciples, He reveals another truth to them: the way to real life is to die to self and live for Jesus.

A Sign of Hope
Matthew 15:29-16:1 | Mon, Apr 04, 2011 | Pastor John Stillman

People in the world are looking for a sign of hope, a sign that everything is going to be okay. Some need healing. Some need a touch of kindness. All need to be fed the true Bread of Life found in Jesus. In this message, Pastor John looks at how Jesus’ feeding of the 4,000 gives us a sign of hope.

A Heart Transformed by Hope
Matthew 15:1-20 | Mon, Mar 21, 2011 | Pastor John Stillman

In this passage, Jesus gets to the root cause of sin and separation from God and our failure to worship. Our external actions and the words we say and the way we feel are ultimately rooted in the human heart. And when the heart is corrupted, it is far from the heart’s Creator. To worship properly what we need is a heart transformed by hope – by King Jesus.

Hope for the Despised and Rejected
Matthew 13:54-14:12 | Sun, Mar 13, 2011 | Pastor John Stillman

Jesus is the King of the Nations. Yet, unlike the dictators and despots of the world, Jesus is a different kind of king. He has all authority, but He is completely humble. He is forceful and challenging, but He is gentle. He is the rightful King, but He is rejected. In today’s message, we’ll see why people reject King Jesus, and how do we respond when that rejection falls on us.

getting to know HOPE on a first-name basis
Matthew 16:13-19 | Mon, Apr 11, 2011 | Pastor John Stillman

Having people know your identity - your name, your occupation, what you see as your life’s purpose – is important. Jesus wants you to know His identity, too, because eternal life is knowing Jesus Christ who was sent by the heavenly Father (John 17:3). Do you know Him?

The Most Hoped For Things in the World
Romans 5:1-5 | Sun, Mar 06, 2016 | Pastor John Stillman

What are the most hoped for things in the world? We could look and look, but Scripture tells us that what we really need and have is available to us through the gospel. In this message, we will look at five things the gospel provides to all believers.

Seeds of Hope
1 Corinthians 3:5-11 | Mon, Jun 28, 2010 | Pastor John Stillman

As we finish up our time in our current building and prepare to begin a new phase in our history as Crosswinds, Pastor John focuses today’s message on reasons to be hopeful no matter where we are located as a congregation.

Things are looking up!
Acts 1:10-26 | Mon, Apr 21, 2008 | Pastor John Stillman

Before Jesus ascended back to His Father in heaven, He gave His disciples these instructions: “Do not leave the city, but wait for the gift that my Father has promised.” What do you do during times when God says, “Wait.” In this section of Acts, we see the church waiting and preparing for God to act in a powerful way. There are some important lessons that we as a church can learn about prayer, unity, and courage.

The Great Reversal
Esther 5:9-7:10 | Sun, Mar 02, 2008 | Pastor John Stillman

As a rule, standing out in a world that calls us to blend-in to its value system is a good thing… except in the case of pride. Pride is an internal attitude of the heart that is focused on self – my needs, my hurts, my successes. Pride always, always, always will be reversed (see Job 20:6-7, Psalm 138:6, Proverbs 16:18, and Isaiah 42:8). In fact, like Haman, a great reversal awaits each and every one of us. It’s only a matter of whether the reversal is voluntary or forced
