The Bible is about Jesus – The Hope That Changed the World. Because He rose from death, Jesus changed everything, and is now worshiped by nearly 2 billion people all over the world as Lord, Christ, Savior, and God. In His name, the nations will put their hope.

Only two gospels record the details of Jesus’ birth, but all four record his death, and give quite a bit of attention as to how Jesus died. As Jesus first revealed His coming death, burial, and resurrection to His disciples, He reveals another truth to them: the way to real life is to die to self and live for Jesus.

People in the world are looking for a sign of hope, a sign that everything is going to be okay. Some need healing. Some need a touch of kindness. All need to be fed the true Bread of Life found in Jesus. In this message, Pastor John looks at how Jesus’ feeding of the 4,000 gives us a sign of hope.

In this passage, Jesus gets to the root cause of sin and separation from God and our failure to worship. Our external actions and the words we say and the way we feel are ultimately rooted in the human heart. And when the heart is corrupted, it is far from the heart’s Creator. To worship properly what we need is a heart transformed by hope – by King Jesus.

Jesus is the King of the Nations. Yet, unlike the dictators and despots of the world, Jesus is a different kind of king. He has all authority, but He is completely humble. He is forceful and challenging, but He is gentle. He is the rightful King, but He is rejected. In today’s message, we’ll see why people reject King Jesus, and how do we respond when that rejection falls on us.

Stories of rescue are all around us on a regular basis. We need reminders of rescues and saviors because the world is filled with danger, risk, and the possibility of death. In the opening words of Peter's letter to followers of Christ who were living in a world that was treating them unfairly, he reminds them that they have been rescued by God, and all that implies.

We have been focusing in this chapter on the Kingdom Community. There are really two kingdom communities around us. The kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of the World. Which do you belong to? One operates on the basis of Grace. The other on the basis of Law. Which do your actions towards others show that you are a citizen of?

What does it mean to be made for more? It does not mean you were made for more stuff, not more power, not more money not more possessions. You were not born primarily for these things. Pastor John Stillman takes a deeper look into Psalm 122 to answer the question what were we made for.
